The different levels of apprenticeship training programmes are then split into the four categories: intermediate, advanced, higher and degree.

Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)

The level 2 intermediate apprenticeship is the lowest level an apprentice can apply for. There are no set guidelines for this level, other than the five GCSE pass grades, so the apprentice will have to demonstrate they’re eager and keen to complete the course.

Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4, 5)

This higher apprenticeship route is a lot tougher to apply for. This is due to the qualification being the equivalent to a foundation degree, a HNC or the first year of an undergraduate degree.

Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6, 7)

For those looking to reach new peaks with their apprenticeship studies, universities are now offering apprenticeships the opportunity to obtain a full bachelor’s degree with a level 6 and a master’s degree in the apprentices chosen subject at level 7.
